You can find suitable activities for toddlers and teenagers alike. Our ski concierge team prepared a list of top tips that will help to keep the whole family entertained!
FIRST, KIDS-FRIENDLY SKI INSTRUCTORS & LESSONS
Snow family is a great ski school when looking to book private ski lessons for kids. At Snow family, we believe it is important for anyone working with children to have a little piece of childhood still within them to make the lesson a fun unforgettable experience. Our ski instructors have enduring patience, are supportive and encouraging, and are great "ski-buddies" your child will look to ski forward with season after season.
OUTDOOR PLAYGROUNDS
Located just between the post office and Hotel Phoenix, there are swings, slides, and climbing frames, with the added bonus of snow in the winter which is perfect for snowman building. If you’ve exhausted the possibilities of Verbier playground, with a short gondola ride down to Le Châble, a 5-minute walk from the cable car at Espace Saint-Marc there is a skate park, with a climbing frame, mini-trampoline, and swings for both young and older children. Please note that the skate park is closed when there is snow in the valley.
MOUNTAIN AIR PLAY AREA
Mountain Air shop has a small indoor unattended play area where you can leave your bigger children to play whilst shopping.
At Place Blanche in front of Mountain Air, many families take advantage of the flat area where kids can build snowmen and go sledding whilst grown-ups can enjoy the W Apres Ski.
ICE SKATING
The ice skating rink located in the center of Verbier is free to use. You can rent ice skates at Medran sports (opposite) for 5chf per pair. After skating warm up with a hot chocolate at Chocolaterie de Verbier.
INDOOR ACTIVITIES AT SPORT CENTER If the day is frosty or the kids just don't get tired there is an excellent auto-belay indoor climbing wall for bigger children (4+) in the sports center. You can also sign up for indoor tennis lessons or squash.
TOBOGGAN RUN A FAMILY ADVENTURE Verbier is home to the longest sledge run in French-speaking Switzerland, with a descent of 700+ meters. The run takes you from the top of Savolyeres all the way down to the small village of La Tzoumaz. Sledges can be hired in the resort at sports shops or at the top station at Savoleyres. Don’t forget to check if the run is open! Dress warmly, grab a helmet and enjoy the thrills of high alpine sledging. Best for kids aged 10+.
PETIT VERBIER
Book a Petit Verbier nanny, she will entertain kids with toys, games, and a whole load of activity ideas! Petit Verbier also runs different après ski group activities and events throughout the year.
CINEMA AFTERNOON When the weather turns grim, or when legs get tired après ski check out the movie selection at Verbier cinema. With the latest cartoon and films, this program is always a winner. Tickets start from CHF 12 per person.
HUSKY SLEDGE RIDES Enjoy the spectacular panorama of glaciers from a husky sled. Husky sledding is one of the most popular on-the-snow activities in Verbier. Jump on a sledge with a few of the 16 huskies of TakiTerek, and enjoy an Artic experience in the heights of Verbier, between Ruinettes and Dahu.
ZIP-LINE IN VERBIER With top speed boasting above 100 km/h this high-altitude zipline is the ultimate adrenaline-rush experience for your teens! The zip line glides above Tortin glacier between Mont-Fort and Les Gentianes. The meeting point is located at the restaurant des Gentianes.
PARAGLIDING WITH SKIS You might not think of paragliding as kids' first experience. However, Fly Verbier often takes kids aged as little as six for panoramic flights. Brace yourself, because this is an experience they won't stop talking about.
ACTIVITIES WITH CLOSE PROXIMITY TO VERBIER (1 HR)
BARRYLAND - WALK & SLEDGE WITH SAINT BERNARDS
Go for a walk with Saint Bernard dogs of Barryland, in the gentle, dreamy winter landscape of Champex-Lac. Make friends with these furry giants during a 45-minute walk, whilst admiring the splendid mountain scenery at the same time. Each outing is accompanied by two Saint Bernards, one is pulling a sledge. Children from 2 to 8 years old can sit in the sledge and be pulled along, one at a time.
MONSTROFUN
Monstrofun is an indoor leisure park offering wild adventures for children up to 12 years. Equipped with trampolines, mini-karting, a ball pool, and a bouncy castle this is every kid's dream playground.
AQUAPARK
Looking for a family day out that combines fun, relaxation, excitement, and thrills? Head for Aquaparc, a good hour drive from Verbier you will find the biggest aqua park in French-speaking Switzerland for water fun in all seasons.
ALAÏA CHALET
Switzerland's biggest indoor skate and trampoline park. The Alaïa Chalet skatepark was designed and built by California Skateparks which are world renown! If your teens are into tricks and skating - this program will blow them away!
